Uncle Sam’s farm office: How the Farm Service Agency was born

A short but interesting read.

“The Farm Service Agency was born out of the depths of the Great Depression and the New Deal era of programs promising to revive the nation’s economy.

In 1935, a Department of Agriculture agency was born with familiar initials – FSA – which stood for the Farm Security Administration. The agency relocated entire farm communities to areas in which, it was hoped, farming could be carried out more profitably.”
